What is Desalination?

Desalination is the process of removing salt from seawater. The process originates thousands of years ago when Greek sailors boiled water to create fresh drinking water, this process is now known as distillation. The Romans used clay pots to act as filters, trapping the salt and leaving freshwater inside, a rudimentary process to what SEA-WTR uses called Reverse Osmosis.

Why Desalination

We want to desalinate and purify the Atlantic Ocean because we see a future on the water. As our freshwater sources face severe droughts, deluges, and contamination, we need to find an alternative source that can supply freshwater for bottling. We believe desalination the water purification that is needed.
